Mrs Irene Malone retirement celebration took place on Friday 25th September 2015
The evening began with a mass of Thanksgiving in St. Teresa’s Chapel, Tullyherron, which was celebrated by our parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Malachy Murphy.
The mass was beautiful, with pupils leading in the celebration, this included pupils doing the Readings, Prayers of the Faithful and the Reflection. A special offertory of Gifts, which represented Mrs Malone’s teaching career, were brought up by the children and all our Primary 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 pupils were singing throughout the mass, there were also a number of pupils who sang solos.
Refreshments were served in the school after the mass and there were a number of presentations made to Mrs Malone from staff, BOGs, members of the local football club and the pupils themselves.
It was a very momentous occasion and celebration of the outstanding contribution Mrs Malone has made to the teaching and learning of all the pupils in St. Teresa’s. She will be greatly missed by the pupils, staff and parents. We wish her health and happiness in her retirement.
