World Book Day 2026 at St. Teresa’s, Tullyherron

6th Mar 2026

Today, all our pupils from Reception to Primary 7 joined together to celebrate World Book Day 2026 by dressing up as their favourite book characters. The effort and creativity shown by every child were truly outstanding, with many pupils even designing and making their own costumes at home!

Our school was filled with an exciting variety of characters. We welcomed Elsa from Frozen, a wonderful selection of Roald Dahl favourites including Mr Wonka, Oompa Loompas and several Matilda’s.

Characters from David Walliams’ stories were also popular, such as Sally and Robin from The Midnight Gang.
We also spotted Harry Potter, plenty of Marvel heroes, many Disney princesses and countless other beloved book characters from stories new and old.

We are extremely grateful to all our parents and carers for helping to prepare the children so thoughtfully for this special occasion. Your support helped make today a joyful and vibrant celebration of reading.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you for your fantastic support of our annual Book Fair. Thanks to your purchases, the Book Fair raised over £1000, resulting in more than £500 in free books for our classrooms. This is a tremendous boost to our school’s reading resources and a wonderful success for St. Teresa’s, Tullyherron Reading Week!

We are incredibly proud of all our pupils for making World Book Day 2026 such a memorable and inspiring event. Well done, everyone!
