Loughgilly Cup Champions 2023

6th Jun 2023

A huge congratulations to our School Football Team who won the Loughgilly Cup today in St. Killians GAA Grounds, Whitecross. All the boys and girls played extremely well, they all showed great commitment and determination in this Gaelic Tournament!

After the preliminary rounds we successfully got through to the semi-final and played St. Brigid’s Drumilly. This was a tense and exciting game, the skills displayed by all our players enabled us to win and succeed to the final! It was a thrilling final against St. Malachy’s, Ballymoyer but our Tullyherron All-Stars quality skills and sheer determination won the final to become the Loughgiily Cup Champions 2023!

Congratulations to St. Malachy’s, Ballymoyer who won the Loughgilly Shield and to all the other teams who participated, St. Brigid’s Drumilly, St. Michael’s, Clady and to St. Laurence O’Toole’s Belleeks. Excellent skills and team spirit were displayed by all the girls and boys.

We would like to thank Mr Mark Mc Kinley, Healthy Kidz Coach, and Mr Ciarán Mc Court for refereeing the matches and St. Killian’s Committee for the use of the pitches and other facilities.

We would also like to thank Mr Keiran Shields of Tullyherron Farm Feeds for sponsoring this Tournament and for presenting the Cup and Shield to the winning Teams.

Well Done and congratulations to all our players- Rhys, Kerry, Charlie, Lucy, Ciara, Brea, Raymond, Riley, Barney, Taylor, Lexi, Jake, Darragh and Niall.

To celebrate this wonderful achievement, we are having a school party on Friday 9th June and we are inviting all our pupils from Reception to Primary 7 to wear a Gaelic Jersey into school on this day.
