The Big School Birdwatch 2026
This week, our pupils took part in The Big School Birdwatch 2026, and it was an exciting and educational experience for everyone involved.
The children spent time outdoors observing and recording the different bird species found around our school grounds. We were lucky to spot a wide range of birds, including house sparrows, robins, pied wagtails, pigeons, gulls, blackbirds and magpies.
As part of our ongoing involvement in the Eco-Schools Programme, we continue to work hard to create a bird-friendly environment within our school. This year, pupils helped provide food for the birds using leftover bread, placing it on the bird tables around the school grounds.
Members of our Eco Committee played an important role by taking pupils around the school to highlight the different birds that can be found across our grounds.
The Big School Birdwatch was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to connect with nature, develop observation skills, and learn more about how we can care for wildlife in our local environment. We look forward to continuing to support our feathered friends throughout the year.
