Spring has sprung in Rec/ P1!

23rd Apr 2026

Mrs Duffy’s Rec/ P1 children have been enjoying learning all about their topic Spring through a range of fun, hands on outdoor activities.

The children took part in an exciting Spring hunt around the school grounds, working together in pairs to search for signs of Spring such as new leaves, flowers, and insects.

In small groups, the children also enjoyed planting flowers with Mickey, learning how to care for plants and understanding what they need to grow. We can’t wait to watch our Spring flowers bloom!

Spring learning continued in our mud kitchen, where the children had lots of fun exploring, mixing and creating Spring flower petal stew, making fizzy mud potions and working hard in the mud bakery.

We have really enjoyed being weather watchers throughout the month of April, observing and recording the changes in our Spring weather. We loved making chalk markings of the weather symbols we know.

We have really enjoyed our outdoor play in the beautiful Spring weather!
