School Council Presents £500 Cheque to Evora Hospice Newry

15th May 2026

On Wednesday 1st April, our School Council held a fantastic whole school Bake Sale, an event that was agreed on, planned, organised and led entirely by our wonderful School Council. Their hard work, initiative and sense of responsibility shone through as they prepared for the day, organised the stalls and ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our parents, carers, families and staff, who kindly contributed such a wonderful selection of baked goods. Your support made this event possible, and we are truly grateful. Following the success of our previous bake sale, the pupils were especially motivated to make this one even bigger and better.

Thanks to the combined efforts of our whole school community, the Bake Sale raised an outstanding total of £500. This impressive amount was donated to Evora Hospice Newry, the School Council’s chosen charity, a cause close to many hearts and one the pupils felt strongly about supporting.

On Wednesday 13th May, we were delighted to present a cheque to Emma from Evora Hospice Newry, making the occasion even more special.

A huge congratulations to our School Council members — PJ, Gráinne, Alfie, Frank, Harley, Eva, Aoife-Rose and Mollie, for organising and running such a successful event. Their teamwork and leadership were exceptional. We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Nicola for guiding and supporting the pupils so well throughout this project.

Well done to everyone involved, what a wonderful achievement for our school community!
