Future Scientists at Work: Exploring Circuits in P4/5!
Mrs Kelly's P4/5 class explored the topic of electricity in our WAU lessons this half term. We worked scientifically to make predictions and set up fair tests. We made circuits using wires, bulbs, bulb holders and batteries. We then investigated how to ‘break’ a circuit by making our own switches to turn the lights on and off. We recorded our results using symbols to represent simple circuit diagrams.
We also experimented to discover which materials were conductors of electricity and which were insulators. Finally, we completed a STEM challenge – Electric Artwork! We fused art with electricity and created super cool LED light-up Christmas cards to take home, using battery holders and crocodile clips to make a working circuit.
Mrs Kelly is very proud of all her young scientists of the future!
